GENERAL THEORY
The characters are in an experiment. This experiment or initiative DARMA is, initially, the study of the Black Rock and the phenomenas and possibilities which result from this. Then, to observe the behavior of cobays confronted with the capacities of the Black Rock This experiment is based on work of BF Skinner, Carl G Jung and his collaborator M. - L. von Franz.
At the human one, this Black Rock can solve the individual problems being able to pose problems at a society, a little at the image of a psychotherapy forced for the common good.
The required final objective is to create a utopian society. This society is an enormous electromagnetic system being able to be used as receptacle with an unconscious pacified society. The origin of this element is the Black Rock. This “experiment” is financed by the very powerful Hanso foundation.

PART 1 :
OTHERS AND EXPERIMENTS
Initiative DARMA
Initiative DARMA was creates in 1970. The others are the scientists, the creators of the experiment, or project DARMA, testing their creation. Some arrived before 1980, date of the film “orientation”. The Swan bunker and at least two others were built with catte time there.At this time there was a first incident. Then, part of the others arrived at the same time as the team of Rousseau, it was 16 years ago. Psychotherapy, alchemy, philosopher stone and numbers
The most original discovery of the work of Jung is undoubtedly the existence in the unconscious human one of a dynamism of transformation.
This discovery, Jung initially made the experiment for itself of it. Following the rupture of its friendship with Freud, it was confronted with a great interior loneliness. It passed through an important crisis, in prey with a great flood of interior images. There it lived a true confrontation with the unconscious one, being found sometimes in extreme cases of the mental health.

Jung discovers that while confronting itself with the unconscious one, it Me changes. “This curious faculty of metamorphosis of which made proof the human heart, and who expresses himself precisely in the transcendent function, is the essential object of the alchemical philosophy of the end of the Middle Ages”, writes it. “It expresses its principal topic of the metamorphosis thanks to the alchemical symbolic system. It appears to us today with obviousness that it would be an unforgivable error to see in the alchemical current of thought only of the operations of retorts and furnaces. Admittedly, alchemy has also this side, and it is in this aspect that it constituted the groping beginnings of exact chemistry. But alchemy has also a side life of the spirit which should be taken care not to underestimate, a psychological side from which one is far from to have drawn all that one can draw: there was a “alchemical philosophy”, staggering precursor of the most modern psychology. The secrecy of this alchemical philosophy, and its key ignored during centuries, the philosopher stone, it is precisely the fact, the existence of the transcendent function, the metamorphosis of the personality, thanks to the mixture and the synthesis of its noble factors and its coarse components, of alloy of the differentiated functions and those which are not it, in short, of the nuptials, in being it, of its conscious and its unconscious.”

There is a parallel striking with the structures discovered by Jung in the unconscious collective. This common vision leads to the design of a unified world (I' unus mundus of the alchemists) whose harmony and direction result in a numerical order, putting fine at Cartesian dualism.
This book abounds in examples borrowed as well from the mathematical field and scientist as from that of the psychology and the history of the symbols. By its strength of thought and its wealth of information, it contributes an important share to the study of the bases of the “new scientific spirit”. It thus has to make date in the history of sciences.
THE BLACK ROCK

Stone of the philosophers: Elagabale
First of all, a little history:
The Old ones, in Syria, adored the sun in the shape of a black stone which they named Héliogabale, represented by the hieroglyphic sign of the sun, it was named later “philosopher stone”. It is sure today that this stone, whose existence was scientifically proven, was a meteorite.

Rain
The mark registered on the vodka bottle that Jack leaves its pocket in the pilot episode means “the rain”
The rain and the sea play a major part on the island. In addition to the fact that the rain is traditionally used with the cinema to accentuate the dramatic side of a scene ..... the rain is recurring in Lost. The rain seems to fall when one from the survivors in attack another or when a survivor dies. As soon as it occurs an event likely to make evolve/move the play the sky darkens and the rain falls. Moreover this rain does not appear natural, indeed, it arrives as by enchantment and disappears also quickly. And I can ensure you that even on a tropical island that does not occur like that. Other made disconcerting, in the episode, S01Ep23 a small group leaves with Rousseau in Black Rock to seek dynamite there. In way, they are made attack by the imitation monster, right before the attack, it rains, and when the rain stops, of only one blow as usual, Rousseau looks towards the sky and known as:
- “One is in safety now. ”
Well attentively look at these three scenes and you will see that this rain is not natural:

In the S01Ep12 episode the island wishes that the survivors leave the beach and will settle with the others, with the caves. For that, it makes assemble the sea level, by creating an abnormal tide (dixit Sayid)
I think that we can connect these three things to electromagnetism:
the sea (and its reflections gray-like flash-cf song sea),
the rain (the storm and flashes),
the black smoke (inside one sees flashes).
THE ELEMENT: THE MAGNÉTISME-ORIENTATION
It is certain that the island has an exceptional magnetic capacity for example the key of jack in the bunker (in spite of the enormous wall which separates them: dixit Sayid).
Such a magnetism allows us several things:
The plane
To attract a large metal body and to make it be posed… Indeed, electromagnetism could explain why the plane was diverted of its initial trajectory then deformed then broken in 3 pieces and finally posed carefully (about) what would have perhaps limited the number of deaths. This element consists of magnetic waves. Its source is Elagabale, Black Rock. The element is able to probe the thoughts of the men. The images in black smoke are the images of the thoughts. They are the images of the unconscious collective.
It appears now obvious that if the goal is to arrive at a Utopia by establishing the ideas of the men in this element, it is not necessary that harmful, bad ideas come to pollute it, the characters must thus be purified. (see the part Black Rock)
THE DISEASE AND INJECTIONS
The product which Others injects is indeed a kind of vaccine. A vaccine is a preparation containing of the micro-organisms which are, either of the inactivated germs, or of the killed germs. This preparation is managed with an aim of immunizing the organization counters infectious diseases.
If one wants to stop the effect of the stone, it is necessary to be vaccinated by managing inactive germs of the latter. We can suppose that the vaccine at summer created starting from the stone, Elagabale. The stone being completely associated figures 4-8-15-16-23-42, it is normal to find this one on the bottles of vaccines. As on a bottle of vaccine against the plague, it wrote “plague there”.

HALLUCINATIONS

THE MONSTER

The monster of season 1 is not different, at the beginning, that the element with the ideas/to remember Vincent, the dog and thanks to the relation which it maintains with mysterious Walt. Vincent is the monster with the way in which Locke looks at it and fear in the episode 1x4 does not have any. SYNTHESIS OF PART 1 AND 2
The objectif of the experiment, or initiative DARMA, carried out by Others with the financial support of the Hanso foundation, is to create a social Utopia. The purpose of this Utopia is to exceed death and the fights between the men. The seat of this Utopia is an electromagnetic element, resulting from the philosopher stone, Elagabale which Black Rock transported, where can come to place the ideas and the thoughts of the man for thus creating an unconscious pacified collective and exceeding the idea of death. This psychotherapy of a new kind is inspired by work of CG. Jung, ml. Von Franz, BF Skinner and of the alchemists, in particular NR. Flamel

PREPARATION OF THE EXPERIMENT
Others did not meet our survivors only on their arrival on the island. They followed them since longer. One can notice that in episodes S01EP23-24-25. In these episodes, one sees our favorite characters the morning before they do not take their plane. And we can notice that the others apply already the will of the island.
- Jack must separate from the bonds of his/her father: the air-hostess makes pressure so that it does not take the body of his father.
- Was the mother of Michael who refuses to take Walt and who insists heavily so that it deals with his son her true mother?
- Jin is challenged by a man in the toilets who knows some much about him, he says to work for the father of Sun but oddly he does not try to bring back them
- And then, most convincing, Charlie awakes beside a fair young woman who tries to take her heroin to him. Look at its photographs :
And now my preferred, by knowing a little our friends J.J. Abram and Lindelof (scenario writers, etc etc…), you really believe that these two people who looked at Jin and Sun were there by luck? Of course that not, they supervised.
BEGINNING OF THE PART
The characters are arranged on the aircraft like pawns on a plate of backgammon. Each one in its numbered line. Then the play starts and moves on the island.
The characters was not randomly selected, it is Elagabale which chose them because of their passed. Each character has two pawns, a white, a black.
THE ISLAND OR THE PLATE OF PLAY
Two sides
- Just like a plate of backgammon, the island is divided into two, I will take for proof this counterpart of Zeke S2Ep12:
- “There is a border here. If you cross it, one passes from a misunderstanding… to another thing. ”
This boundary line in the play of backgammon is called the bar, at the time of this famous conversation they are thus on the bar. We also could note that side of the island where there was the second group, it did not have there strange phenomena. Thus there is a strongly magnetic side and another less.
The eye
The island is represented many times under the allegory of the eye. I think that the survivors would make well go to see what there is in the center of the island, in the crater (cf map of rousseau).
Moreover, I think that Locke already went there, which gave him many answers.
For proof, this extract in the episode 01x05:
Locke:
- “I am an ordinary man, Jack. Meat, potatos. I live in the real world. I do not believe especially in… the magic. But this place is different. Special. The others do not want to speak about it because that their fact fear. But it is known all, and it is felt all. Is your white rabbit a hallucination? ”
Jack:
- “Probably. ”
Locke:
- “But and if all that occurred here had not arrived without reason?
And if this person whom you tracked were really there? ”
Jack:
- “It is impossible. ”
Locke:
- “Even if that is, let us suppose that that is not it. ”
Jack:
- “Whereas will it occur when I will catch it? ”
Locke:
“I do not know. But I looked in the eye of this island, and what I saw… was splendid…”
THE EXIT OF THE PAWNS
The phoenix
The goal of the play to the backgammon is to leave all its pawns the plate.
On the island, the goal of the play is appreciably the same one (knowing that each character has two pawns). Each character must solve the two “problems” represented by a white stone/pawn and a black stone/pawn. The white stone represents a problem directly dependent on its past. The black stone represents more one enigma which binds the character to the island, something to make, an action related to an awakening. When a character succeeds in solving his two problems/enigmas, or in other case, when it is not useful any more for the stone, it can die physically.
Example:
Boone: It is detached from his sister and who dies in peace, this represents the white stone.
It makes it possible to advance the opening of the bunker, this represents the black stone.
FLASH-BACKS
Normally, to the backgammon, to each turn the players launch Des. the jets of dice influence displacements of the pawns. The chance, or rather the destiny thus takes charges their displacements of them. The destiny being one of the many explanations of what is the chance. The throws of dice do not influence the past but the future, therefore not the memories but the future actions of the characters.
Synchronicity
The synchronicity is closely dependent on the concept of the chance and what is called coincidences. Sometimes, when those appear disconcerting to us, we have the intuition that it is a sign of the destiny, that that cannot occur by pure and simple chance. I do not speak about mental projections of the paranoiacs who see signs where clearly a “reasonable” person does not see anything special…
Who forever have this impression? One thinks of something and this thing appears precise precisely at this time. One makes premonitory dreams, one has visions. A succession of unexpected events (of good news, if one is lucky) occurs in the same day. Etc… An extraordinary example is given on this page: http://sergecar.club.fr/TPE/synchronicite/documents.htm
It is said that the events are not synchronous when no relation appears between them; they are chaotic to some extent. Whereas the synchronicity supposes a unit vision of reality, non-duelle, nonfragmentary.
In the paradigm mechanist of normal science, illustrated in particular by Descartes and Newton and which prevail still largely in our companies, one a duality between the subject and the object, and the local law of causality supposes, which leads naturally to the definition that Cournot of the chance gives: a simple “intersection of independent causal series”.
However modern physics (quantum) showed that the concept chosic of reality was exceeded, that it had it rather to be conceived in the shapes of waves and fields, and that the universe could not exist independently of the observer, insofar as the observer always acts on observed (with due respect to Einstein…). It was as proven recently as particles could “communicate” between them in an instantaneous way, without transmission of signal thus, which would make it possible to show that “the most subtle level from the matter, exists an infinite correlation of the events, a unified field where to some extent in any point, in a holographic way, all information present and is thus reflected”!
From where the theory of the synchronicity, definite as being “coincidence in the time of two or several events without causal relation and having the same significant contents”. To also bring closer the law of the series (“never two without three”…) where an event seems to enter in resonance with itself and to be repeated.
Jung bound this theory with that of the unconscious collective, kind of universal mental plan, unit conscience in which one is sometimes plunged, in the sleep especially. That clearly is evoked in the metaphysics of Aurobindo and described by certain mystics, moreover… By reaching this higher plan, one would have access to A-causal information thus, from where the phenomena of telepathy, premonitions, aimed, etc When quantum physics speaks about unified field where an infinite correlation of the events resides and where information is instantaneous and omnipresent, it acts of the same thing, as if the universe were a great thought, a field of intelligence.
When it is thought and that something is wished, one can thus suppose that these intentions are creative energy, which influences the state of the universe and will be spread in acts. Thus we all are participating in the universe, in our universal subjectivity, relation between Self and To be it.
In the mental universal one which transcends the space-time-causality of the natural attitude, causality is not mechanical any more but understandable, and it in affectivity that the synchronicity opens out, just as is especially crowned. The synchronistic experiments appear without the subject not seeking them, it is thus not a mental projection.
“Yi-King” or “book of changes”
The Book of the Transformations was in the beginning a collection of signs with use of oracles. An oracle is used to predict the future. In which relates to the yi king, it makes it possible to predict which will arrive while being based on what exists and the way of which that will evolve/move, it is the theory of the butterfly effect controls: it is the synchronicity. And we can without any doubt connect the signs of project DARMA to the hexagrames of Yi_King.
To conclude, let us quote this very synthetic sentence of Jung: “The events synchronistic impose to us a vision of the world like unified field where the individual experiment and the action are basically connected to those of others”.
Throws of dice
On the island, displacements and the actions of the characters are due only to the synchronicity; a flashback is equivalent to a throw of dice and influence one or more their actions (displacements).
The synchronicity replaces the chance,
it plays the part of Dices..
Operation
The flashbacks, although they represent the real past of the characters, are caused by the island. These flashbacks are often associated hallucinations. The purpose of they are to direct the characters in their choices, their decisions. These flashbacks can also influence other characters. For example, a character loses himself in the jungle and will find answers: Sawyer who tracks judicious wild boar to represent his father and true Mr. Sawyer.
There still one finds the thought of Jung with the paradigm of the beetle:
The cétoine gilded which comes to knock against the pane right at the time when the patient tells a dream in which it received in gift a gilded beetle. Jung tells in which astonishment it had opened the window, to catch the insect, to tighten it with his patient while exclaiming: “Here, your beetle! ”, starting at it the catch liberator of the cure, the effect of catharsis. The two sequences, the account of the young woman and the noise with the window are connected in a point independently of any causal bond. In this example, one speaks about synchronicity of the events because they occur simultaneously, in coherence, of a common set of themes.
Example of flashback directing a character:
The element wants that Boone takes distances with his/her sister, Shannon. For that, it will make him remember its relation with Shannon, in particular, when he comes to Australia to make it break with his buddy, and when he sleeps with it. All in all the island gives to him in memory which he likes his sister and which that leads it to its loss. Then, in the form of hallucination, it will show him that it is relieved when his/her sister dies. From this Boone episode is released from the obstacle which the incestueux love of his/her sister represents.
Discussed between Locke and Boone at the end this episode.
Boone:
- “She had died. ”
Locke:
- “It is what that showed to you? ”
Boone:
- “What that showed to me? You doped me? ”
Locke:
- “I made you live an experiment which I believe was vital for your survival on this island”.
Boone:
- “It was not true? ”
Locke:
- “It was as true as this you made some. ”
Examples of flashback influencing of other characters:
S01Ep03 Flashback on Kate, his problem is the report/ratio with the father two episodes later, Jack sees his/her father in costume on the beach.
S01Ep4 the Flashback on Locke is an example of the impotence due to its condition-paralysis two episode later Sun (impotent it also because of its condition of woman) progresses and decides to speak English with the others and thus to free itself from oppression of her husband and later in the S01Ep10 episode it holds head in Jin.
S02Ep10 Charlie and Heko go in the jungle, Heko “is probed” by smoke, two episodes later Charlie has a trip mystic-Christian and Claire chooses to make baptize her BB.
THE GIFT OF ONESELF
Carrots and stick
- S01Ep06
Locke:
- “I know that this island can give you what you want, but you must initially give something to the island. ”
We can notice that when a character does one of which of him, in the direction where it progresses towards interior peace, where it in the insular therapy, or in the enigma which is given to him by the island, it advances thanks it in return.
The S01Ep08 episode is an obvious example of this rule:
When Charlie decides to stop taking drugs, it takes a step ahead. When it decides to go to help Jack which is wedged in the cave, it takes another step ahead. And the island thanks it and the good way shows him to leave the cave by sending a moth to him.
All in all, the island uses the ic method of carrot and the stick.
Another example of operation with Jack in the S01Ep11 episode:
In this episode, Jack makes its strong head since the beginning. It does not go in the direction of the island. Its problem at this time there, it is that he wants to do everything, to save everyone, whereas its role is to be the doctor of the island. Locke, however tries to prevent it:
“Then returns, would be the doctor. Let be to me the hunter. ”
The island first of all will punish it. For that, it will cause in him auditive hallucinations which will guide it until Ethan. And it will take one removed rust from.
Then, it will be let guide by the island and will find Charlie, hung and left for death. At this time there, it returns in its function of doctor, and it is what the island wants. To reward it, it will leave him ressusciter Charlie.

In the episode S01Ep08 Sahid tortured Sayer, the island did not want it. In the following episode, it is made in its turn torture by Rousseau. I let to you read this formidable counterpart of Swayer:

HANDLING OF THE EVENTS
"everything happens for a reason"
At the time of these flashbacks, there are very many “coincidences” (but in LOST, you know it “everything happens for has reason”), Boone who crosses Sawyer with the police station, Hurley which passes to the TV in the Koreans, Sawyer and the father of Jack in the bar, etc, etc I will not make the list of it so much it there of A.
On the other hand, I think that the interactions between the characters are to be connected to the fact that they are not on the island by chance. I am explained, the element consists of magnetism, of electricity, therefore it can go everywhere where it wishes it. In the air carried by moisture, in a high-tension line, the radio waves, etc, etc… We can also notice that the flashbacks start in the neighbourhoods of the Sixties, date of the beginning of research and project DARMA.
We can thus suppose that the island, stone, and Others have followed and handle our survivors for these years. What would not explain things badly. By looking at the flashbacks, you will be able to notice that there is almost always a source of electricity close to the character. Lines with high tention, lamps lit, electric meter…
WHY ?
Why the Others worry about the place of the survivorss?
To study the behavior of the guinea-pigs, our survivors, under the influence of Elagabale it is necessary that they are at the good place, i.e. on the side of the island where magnetism is active, beside Black Rock. Indeed, we could note that side of the island where there was the second group, it did not have there strange phenomena. It is also for that that Others did not attack them while they crossed the island, they let them join the first group and the place where they wanted that they are.
Why to have removed people?
Why to have rapted people?
In the S02Ep07 episode on the Goodwin hill is uncovered by Anna Lucia and they speak;
Goodwin:
- “Nathan was not somebody of good. This is why it was not on the list (the list of shipwrecked men removed by the others). ”
If it is extrapolated, that gives us, all those which were not on the dye stick were not good people. Now if one takes that in the other direction, that gives us those which were on the list was goods people.
Thus those which were removed were ready to belong to the Utopia, the others must be reconditioned.
Why to rapte the children?
Still in the S02Ep07 episode on the Goodwin hill is uncovered by Anna Lucia and they speak;
Anna Lucia:
- “And children? You killed them too? ”
Goodwin:
- “The children are well. They are better where they are. ”
The children have less traumatisms than an adult. Thus they are ready to be conditioned to live in a company utopian. By leaving them with people who would not have been conditioned yet, the children would then create for themselves new psychological traumatisms which would have to be solved. To remove is thus a saving of time for the experiment. And best remains still a BB which did not have the least emotional traumatism yet, for example Aaron or Alex. We can also note that Elagabale hopes sincerely that Others recover the children, or in any case Aaron, because in the way in which this one helps Héthan (superhuman force, murmurs…). But the element does not wish that Héthan is made capture, it uses Charlie to kill it.

Phoenixes
WALT

Jack:
- “You took Walt”.
Zéké:
- “Walt is well. It is a very special little boy. ”
Walt acts a little with the manner of a faked die. It is a different child, several people recognize it, Locke, Zeke, the father-in-law of Walt…
Example: S01EP11 part of backgammon between Hurley and Walt:
Hurley has just explained why he is a good player of Walt tournament launches the dice and known as:
- “Go, two six, two six. ”
The two six that it asked leave:
Walt:
- “Yes! ”
Hurley:
- “Oh, I dream or what? ”
Walt:
- “I am lucky. ”
Hurley:
- “Nobody has as much chance than that. ”
Walt:
- “My father said to me that I was the luckiest person whom it knew. ”
For my part, I think that if Walt is so powerful that that, it is grace, on the one hand, with the relation which it maintains with magnetism, a little as people who put out of order the watches, but in much more powerful. Indeed, we know that the migratory birds are directed thanks to magnetic systems of currents and well point out you the scene where the bird is crushed on the window. And in addition, thanks to the relation which it maintains with the destiny, the chance, all in all synchronicity. Magnetism and the synchronicity are two essential components of the element, the island and the stone.
Walt is not yet completely aware of his capacity but while being involved it can control it, for example in the episode S1Ep14, Walt is involved with the throw of knife with Locke:

- “It with the eye of your spirit Imagines. You know what is the eye of your spirit, not? ”
Walt:
- “Like an image in the head. ”
Locke:
- “It is that. Now réessaie but imagines it. Imagine it before doing it. Visualize the trajectory. Visualize. Visualize. ”
Walt concentrates, something of paranormal does, Vincent the direction. Walt draws and succeeds brilliantly.
Boone:
- “Wahou. ”

Walt appears several times at Shannon in the form of hallucination. Notice that each time it seeks Vincent. The dog is used as medium in Walt, who can thus appear.
Remarqez also that it is the only one with speaking freely with everyone, even with Sawyer.
AARON
Aaron, the son of Claire is an important character. He is represented under the image of star.
S01Ep10 Claire speaks with the couple which must adopt its BB:
“You know “wrestling has falling star”? It is a song, a lullaby. My father sang it to me when I was small. You think that you could from time to time sing it with the baby? ”
Jung worked on the alchemical tarot and speaks about it in its book on the sychronicity, and in “psychology and alchemy”, we can directly connect this image of star to the chart of the alchemical tarot: the star.
That us this chart learns:
This chart is connected to water thus in what concerns us, with the element.
There is a bird posed on a tree, recall you that the element is represented in the shape of the bird. This bird is the vulture. In alchemy, bases of this tarot, the vulture is the same bird as the phoenix. I point out that the phoenix reappears of its ashes.
There is a very fair young woman, strange similarity with Claire…
The 7 stars represent the fruits of the solar tree, i.e. the wet metal radical. Does Ca point out anything to you “the wet metal radical”?
The large star has two colors, one yellow, the other red; the human nature and divine nature were seen there. We rather see there sulphur nature (the heart) and air nature (the spirit), these two natures being interlaced.
The major or mystery charts major have a certain order and with the fur and measures charts of the general ideas come to be grafted, the idea right after star, it is the reincarnation.
Not being teller of good adventure and the tracks which this chart gives us being rather explicit, I will let to you make your own interpretation. But read before this interpretation which is not ego, obviously:

Adam and Eve, the two characters found in the cave are, in my opinion, the first two spirits transferred in the element. The element is to be connected directly to the mystic of Yi-King and thus to Yin-Yang.
One is the masculine, the other the female one. One is the white, the other the black. The night and the day, the positive one and the negative one…

ASSESSMENT
I tried in this theory to connect between them all the tracks which the scenario writers of LOST gave us. Some among you will be able to say to me that it is still a theory capillotracté moreover. But it seems to to me that all the parts of the puzzle are enboittent rather well, in particular the ideas of Jung and Black Rock.
However, there remain questions without réponces:
How did the yellow plane arrive? We know what the others want but what wants the stone, handles it everyone to arrive at this releasing and has to contaminate the world?
